Are you suitable?

People decide to enhance or augment their lips for various reasons. Some people consider fuller and more defined lips attractive. Some people have naturally asymmetrical lip shapes which they want to correct. Some people want to add hydration to their lips and some people want to have a smoother/less wrinkly lip appearance.

How long does the procedure take?

Lip fillers typically take 10-20 minutes to perform.

Is lip filler painful?

Many people imagine lip fillers to be very painful due to how sensitive the lips feel. In reality however, people rate lip filler-associated pain very differently. While some do find it painful, many find it largely tolerable. Several measures are usually taken to minimise any discomfort including applying numbing cream prior to the procedure and using lip filler products that contain local anaesthetic/lidocaine.

How many mls do I need?

People come cross debate over how many mls of lip filler is enough? 0.5ml, 1ml or 2mls? There is no standard answer. The amount of product required to achieve the ideal lip appearance can vary depending on the state of the natural lips and the expected outcome of the lip filler.

Experienced doctors who have appreciation for the beauty of lips can usually advise the amount of lip filler required for each client in order to achieve the desired results. The doctor will usually also advise on how many sessions may be needed to deliver the final result. This is why a consultation with an experienced doctor is a crucial part of obtaining an ideal lip appearance.

When can you return to normal activities?

Lip swelling is common after lip fillers and usually settle within a few days. The procedure can sometimes cause bruising to the lips which usually recover within one week. The lips can feel sensitive for several days after the procedure and during this period, activities which can increase swelling should ideally be avoided, for example, forceful kissing, eating spicy food and applying hot steam to the face.

How long will the results last?

Lip filler can be very long-lasting. Depending on the choice of the filler product and one’s own metabolism, lip fillers can last between 6 – 18 months.
